Don Taylor is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and a highly experienced trial lawyer with more than 35 years of practice focused on complex commercial and construction-related disputes.
Don is routinely called upon by owners, developers, and contractors to handle high-stakes matters involving construction and design defects, building code issues, subsurface and geotechnical conditions, delay claims, and condominium transition litigation, as well as disputes arising under the Planned Real Estate Development Full Disclosure Act (PREDFDA). His deep industry knowledge and practical approach make him a trusted advisor in technically complex construction matters where both legal and operational issues are at play.
In addition to his construction practice, Don represents clients in a wide range of sophisticated commercial disputes, including shareholder and LLC conflicts, commercial real estate and lease disputes, franchise matters, insurance coverage litigation, restrictive covenants and trade secrets, banking disputes, and intellectual property matters.
A seasoned trial attorney, Don has extensive experience handling bench and jury trials in both state and federal courts. He is known for his steady, strategic approach and his ability to manage complex cases from inception through resolution, whether at trial or through alternative dispute resolution.

- Represented a California-based non-bank lender that participates in the U.S. Customs and Immigration EB-5 foreign investor program. The matter involved the breach of a Participation Agreement with a New Jersey-based bank for the job creating construction of a hotel. The matter was tried the matter to a successful conclusion in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County resulting in a substantial monetary verdict.
- Represented a developer in connection construction defect litigation relating to a condominium building along the Hudson River in Hudson County, New Jersey. The matter involved a six-week jury trial in Hudson County.
- Defended a Florida-based publishing company in an arbitration before the American Arbitration Association against claims asserted by an athlete for allegedly violating the athlete’s copyrights and name, image and likeness. The matter was arbitrated over several weeks to an award for a fraction of the amount the athlete sought.
- Conducted a virtual jury trial of a construction defect lawsuit during the COVID shutdown to a successful jury verdict.
- Conducted an arbitration before the American Health Law Association regarding the ownership and governance of an ambulatory surgery center.
